Image
Moonrise Kingdom (2012)  Released in 2012, Moonrise Kingdom Written and Directed by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola is a Comedic-Drama film that is crafted with authentic drama and some contemporary flavors. The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for best original screenplay. Basically, Moonrise Kingdom is an adventure movie that breathes the air of freedom and curiosity. The film can be described as a coming of age story, and here Wes Anderson emphasizes the coming of age through his quirky characters and comedic dialect. This film also showcases the rebellion and outlandish maturity of two introverted teens, desperately searching for an accepting world, family and relationship.  The Moonrise Kingdom revolves around the story of two kids, Sam who is a 12-year-old orphan who is also an expert in scouting, and Suzy, who is fierce and quirky. Anderson defines the identities of these two stroppy, rebellious characters by fabricating adult-like humor and scenes dramatized...

Things I would do if the world was going to end.

Things I would do if the world was going to end. What will you do if the world is going to end in 2 days? So after reading this question, the first thing that came to my mind is will I be able to do all the things in these few hours? There are so many things in my mind that I want to do before the world ends. But I think the resulting panic would make it difficult for me to enjoy the things I want to do for the last time. There would be chaos everywhere, everyone would be tense, even me, but I would spend my whole day making the most out of it.  The first thing I would do after waking up is go for a walk on the beach. The beach is my favorite place so I would definitely go there. I would walk around the beach, see the sun peeking over the waves, play in the water, enjoy the cool breeze, and watch the sunrise over the ocean because it’s one of the most beautiful wonders of nature.  Then I would catch up with my friends, grab a coffee from my favourite coffee shop and sit with m...

THE SACRIFICE (1986) FILM ANALYSIS

Image
THE SACRIFICE (1986) By Andrei Tarkovsky The film feels very flowing and naturalistic. The film feels more like a stage play than a film. I feel the sacrifice is about how people see the world. Tarkovsky has cut loose from any thought of entertaining the audience. The film starts with an old man named Alexander planting a tree on his birthday with a small boy, telling stories and talking a little bit. This particular take is a very long take to open up the film. There are a lot of long shots in this film. There is a line in the opening segment which caught my attention is “We live, we have our ups and downs, we hope we wait for something and then we lose hope, we move closer to death and are born again to remember nothing.” So here Tarkovsky is not just talking about the impending devastation but also about life, birth, death, rebirth, and how life just happens. It is a film with very little happening like there are empty rooms with very few items and in a lot of scenes the characters ...
